Green Benefits
Traditional plastics are petroleum based, and petroleum is one of the world’s most valuable, non-renewable resources. Polylactic acid (PLA) is a plant-based plastic made from corn, an annually grown crop. These renewable and compostable soup container lids help divert waste from landfills and can help make valuable, fertile compost in commercial compost facilities, however not in home compost bins.
